Good morning.

I am John Gokongwei, Jr. I am not an Atenean but I feel at home with you. Today, at least.

Sixty-two years ago, I could not have dreamt of appearing before the Jesuits and their students to tell the story of MY life. I was no more than a student then, at San Carlos University in Cebu, when my father died suddenly. It left me, the eldest, the responsibility of taking care of my mother and five siblings. That was tough for someone who was 13. Creditors had just seized our home and business and I had no experience with earning a living.

Eid al-Adha (Arabic: عيد الأضحى ‘Īd ul-’Aḍḥā, Urdu: بقرعید) or the Festival of Sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims and Druze worldwide in commemoration of the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. The devil tempted Ibrahim by saying he should disobey Allah and spare his son. As Ibrahim was about to kill his son, Allah intervened: instead Allah provided a lamb as the sacrifice. This is why today all over the world Muslims who have the means to, sacrifice an animal, as a reminder of Ibrahim’s obedience to Allah. The meat is then shared out with family and friends, as well as the poorer members of the community.

Out of boredom i created a poster for our next event this holiday season. It is better to do something progressive than doing nothing and pretending that you are doing something, Eid Al Adha is a 3 day celebration, yes it means that there would be no work for that three days.

i already finished the flash banner for honda jazz yesterday and we send it to the marketing manager of honda to see if its ok, we are not surprised when he told us that he didnt like the quality of the jazz banner, because he just gave us two ads pictures(flattened already) to use for the flash banner and half of a day to work on it. so what he should expect? we are not magicians ok we are web designers, we cannot magic everything, were still proud on our work because with all that of the burdern that he gave us, we still provide a quite good flash banner. i dont care if he didnt satified on that, its not our problem.. it will just make our team think that we didnt do our best, eventhough we know that we do put all our efforts on it.

already met ate M a while ago at alghurair starbucks, went to mcdo to buy food then went straight to their house to eat and have some small talks, went to festival city and ate again on food court, food again, its bad to resist food thats why i have no choice but to eat. were just going to watch movie right after we ate but problems happen, that is where the cross roads came.. need to think carefully, watch every decisions, check whether it will be for good or not, for permanent or just temporary.. think think think..

at last its Thursday again, no work for the coming two days, i can take a relax again on this weekend.. day goes by very fast, its like yesterday is sunday then today is thursday again.. a week is like a day only, and a month is like a week only…

next week is my 2nd medical, my first medical is cancelled by the hospital because they need the appointment of our company’s PRO, F**K this HR executive of ours.. that animal told me that i can process it by myself, i went at the hospital very early at around 6 am so that i can process it quickly and no need anymore to take the long que of PATANS (sounds like satan) for their medical also. i do really cursed the Monster looking HR executive of ours, he was so DUMB and LAZY, he doesnt give me the correct guidelines for processing my medical papers and other stuff. this is his second mistake to me.. first he doesnt process my working visa properly.. seocnd is my medical, what would be next? i really like to kick his huge tummy and distorted face.. have a great weekend everyone, and also to you animal, may you have a happy weekend in the jungle

been busy yesterday for the revision of toyrus website, ive been fixing css bugs from our old designer who has “8 years of experience in web designing as a FREELANCE” from what he always say… he always bragged on his past experiences.. i dont know if its true.. thats why also he is evicted into this company because of his attitude and pride. his “8 years” experience is not enough for those managers, supervisors who has almost have half of their life work into this company.. and those people are very humble, i think because they dont need to prove anything else, having working for long years, they already get the respect that they want.. how i wish i could be like them, but the problem here is that only the “briton” gets the highest position, next is indians and filipinos, maybe that is really the reality.. Im just thinking that i am very thankful fo having all this blessings, family, health, career, and safety. back to work!

this would be my first post for my experience here in dubai, i was inspired by other bloggers who document their life as they go along and survive in this place called dubai. i also like to document my stay here in dubai so that whenever my contract is finished, there’s still a bunch of words that i can read to relive again the moment that there’s a part of my life w/c i stayed here in dubai, from good things to bad things, every lesson that i learned, to inspired others to be strong and face the real world with guts.
